Larry is Counsel to the Firm in Stoll Keenon Ogden’s Lexington office and has been with the firm since 1983. He is a member of the Labor, Employment & Employee Benefits Practice Group.

Larry practices in areas of traditional labor law and has represented employers before the National Labor Relations Board and in over 30 labor arbitrations, including union challenges to employee discharge and discipline as well as complex contract interpretation issues.ย  Larry has also negotiated collective bargaining agreements on behalf of employers and has advised employers weathering labor strikes.

Larry also has extensive experience litigating and advising clients against claims of race, age and sex discrimination, sexual harassment, disability discrimination, and whistleblower claims under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act in both state and federal courts. Larry has also successfully defended and prosecuted actions for breach of covenant not-to-compete claims.ย ย  For example, he represented a Fortune 500 company, Lexmark International, in an action to enforce a non-compete agreement against a company executive who breached his agreement by taking a position with a competing company, Hewlett Packard in California. He obtained a preliminary injunction against the former executive, and ultimately achieved a settlement that required the executive and Hewlett Packard to comply with the original agreement and pay $525,000 in compensation to Lexmark.

Larry has taught Labor Law for over 15 years and Employment Law for the last three years as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law.
