Representative clients include banks and other lenders, real estate developers, small businesses, and commercial landlords.
Abbey assists clients from the purchase agreement stage through closing, addressing issues that arise along the way and preparing or negotiating agreements, title commitments, endorsements, or loan documents to facilitate the process.
Real Estate: Abbey and the Real Estate practice team provide comprehensive legal assistance to clients in nearly all aspects of real estate planning. The team’s services cover zoning, rezoning, planning, variances, conditional uses, subdivisions, and annexation. They handle acquisition, development, and disposition, as well as office, retail, warehouse, and industrial leasing for landlords and tenants. The team represents lenders and borrowers in financing real estate transactions and manages shopping centers, offices, industrial parks, and planned unit developments. They also offer local counsel assistance in multi-state transactions, construction lending documentation, construction contracts, title examinations, and title insurance. Additionally, they handle real estate and commercial loan workouts, eminent domain representation, and state and local financial incentives for business expansions and developments.
Corporate Finance & Lending: The Corporate Finance & Lending practice team offers expert legal services to multinational, regional, and community banks, financial institutions, commercial lenders, and equity investors. The team specializes in commercial and industrial lending, real estate lending, public and structured finance, loan syndications, equine lending, and SBA lending. SKO manages everything from due diligence to negotiating and documenting credit facilities and handling complex loan restructurings and workouts. Additionally, these lawyers assist companies in raising capital through public and private equity and debt offerings and provide regulatory compliance services, representing clients before federal agencies like the FDIC, Federal Reserve, SEC, OCC, and FINRA.
