Kirby A. Black

Kirby is an Associate in the Louisville office. A native of Paducah, Kentucky, she joined the firm in 2022 and is in the Labor, Employment & Employee Benefits practice group.
Prior to joining SKO, Kirby spent a year as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas B. Russell, senior judge for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. During this time, she gained valuable experience drafting judicial opinions and memoranda.
Labor, Employment & Employee Benefits: Kirby and the SKO team work with small and large businesses in Kentucky on a variety of employment matters, ranging from enforcement of noncompete agreements to compliance with state and federal laws, such as the Family Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. She coordinates with and provides legal assistance to employers, human resources professionals, and company leaders to ensure objectives and strategies are aligned with broader business goals.
