Stoll Keenon Ogden is proud to announce that attorney John Treitz has been elected to the Board of Directors of Meritas, an international alliance of business law firms located in more than 230 markets in 73 countries. Mr. Treitz was elected to the position during the alliance’s recent annual meeting in Montreal. Stoll Keenon Ogden is a member of the Meritas affiliation and the firm’s attorneys have been involved since its inception in 1991.
In his role as a board member, Mr. Treitz will be responsible for reviewing and establishing policy and setting strategy for the alliance. Mr. Treitz will also act as an organizational leader, serving as a liaison to member firms on administrative issues. Mr. Treitz will serve a three-year term. The Meritas Board of Directors is comprised of 21 lawyers from its member firms around the world.

Mr. Treitz has been involved with Meritas for 19 years. A graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, Mr. Treitz focuses his practice on complex finance transactions and commercial and residential real estate development. Mr. Treitz has experience representing banks, borrowers and real estate developers in large commercial multi-party and multi-state transactions. He has served as Chairman of the Real Estate, Planning and Zoning Section of the Louisville Bar Association and is a member of the Louisville, Kentucky and American Bar Associations.
