SKO adds Kathy Thompson to Of Counsel role
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 25, 2024) – Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC (SKO), one of the region’s most established and long-standing law firms, is proud to announce the hiring of Kathy Thompson as Of Counsel.
Prior to joining Stoll Keenon Ogden, Thompson served as Managing Director of Stock Yards Bank & Trust Wealth Management Group for 31 years. In this role, she oversaw the Wealth Management & Trust Company, which included trust and estate administration, financial planning, and investment management for individuals and institutions. Thompson helped the Trust Company expand from $190 million to over $7 billion during her tenure.

Since 1994, Thompson has served as a board member of Stock Yards Bancorp, Inc., where she notably chaired the Trust Committee and served as one of the youngest members on the board and the sole woman. With extensive expertise in investment management, estate planning, and personal financial planning, Thompson has also been honored as one of “The Most Powerful Women in Banking” by U.S. Banker twice.
Thompson holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern Indiana and a Juris Doctorate from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. Her exceptional contributions to the legal field have earned her recognition as the UofL Law Alumnus of the Year.
