SKO’s Monica Braun, Carl Frazier and Mark Hurst are three of the 10 Kentucky attorneys making the list of 375 of lawyers nationwide who earned a position in this exclusive compilation.
Lawyers on the list are at the partner level of their respective firms who are age 40 or younger, have participated in some of their firms’ most noteworthy cases, and have earned praise from clients and peers regarding the quality of their work.
A member of the Business Litigation practice, Braun focuses on intellectual property litigation. She recently represented the Kentucky Horse Racing commission in a dormant commerce clause challenge regarding an industry-standard regulation pertaining to the purchase of horses in claiming races. Braun obtained a summary judgment upholding the constitutionality of the regulation and the decision was affirmed on appeal.
Frazier is a member of the Business Litigation and Tort, Trial & Insurance Services practices. He is experienced in a variety of industries including insurance, technology, public utilities, transportation, education and government entities. Frazier’s practice includes defending claims of products liability, professional negligence and insurance bad faith as well as matters involving antitrust, appellate advocacy, internal investigations/compliance and constitutional law. His professionalism and service have been recognized by numerous awards, most recently as 2016 Outstanding Young Lawyer by the Kentucky Bar Association.
Hurst is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation practice and serves as co-chair of the Trust & Estate Litigation practice. His litigation experience includes representing Fortune 500 companies and small local businesses. Hurst’s practice includes commercial disputes, fiduciary obligations, probate and estate law, defamation, personal injury, non-compete enforcement and employment and discrimination law defense.
